Proof that you can't always trust what you hear: the Volkswagen Routan minivan is coming back for the 2011 model year. As it shares running gears with the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan, the 2011 Routan will get similar updates, starting with a revamped powertrain. Volkswagen introduced several new vehicles at the Qatar Auto Show in the Middle East, but the rides, including a new super fuel efficient coupe, are ready for US consumption.

The German automaker is making claims that its has the most fuel efficient car ever produced: Formula XL1 concept. The car is capable of delivering 261 miles per gallon.
