Which 2017 VW Tiguan Trim Level is Right for You?

The Volkswagen Tiguan crossover SUV offers new trim packages and upgraded standard equipment for 2017. The five-seater vehicle comes with four different trim packages, each offering something different depending on your driving needs. All models come with a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and an automatic six-speed transmission, and all are available in front wheel drive or the Volkswagen 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, heated mirrors, and keyless ignition and entry. Every model also comes with the VW Car-Net App-Connect communication system that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink.

Heated front seats, cruise control, and V-Tex premium vinyl upholstery are also standard on the base vehicles with leather seats in the luxury editions. The trim package you choose will dictate what upgrades come on the SUV.  Now, let’s take a look at the different packages.

VW Tiguan S Edition

The Tiguan S is the least expensive model. Standard features include heated power side mirrors, Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect, and Bluetooth® capabilities that allow you to stream music from your mobile devices. The S models comes with heated front seats and the 4MOTION all-wheel drive comes with a rearview camera to make backing up safer. This trim packages includes 16-inch alloy wheels and black roof rails, plus keyless entry and ignition.

VW Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition

The Wolfsburg Edition is a step up from the S model and comes with a power tilting/sliding panoramic sunroof for enjoying beautiful spring and summer days. Heated side mirrors, 17-inch Novara wheels, additional driver seat adjustments with power lumbar support, and a power reclining front passenger seat are also standard.  The Wolfsburg Edition has silver roof rails and security and service emergency communications through the VW Car-Net.

VW Tiguan Sport Edition

Tiguan Sport Edition comes with a new, sleek design that features a sport rear bumper, side skirts, extended wheel arches, and gloss exterior black mirrors.  Leather upholstery, 18-inch wheels, and dual-zone automatic climate control are also standard. A sport-tuned suspension includes MacPherson struts and a fully independent four-link suspension with stabilizer bars to give you sharper handling. The Sport Edition comes with additional equipment, such as driver memory settings and a navigation system.

VW Tiguan SEL Edition

The SEL Edition is the luxury model and comes with 19-inch wheels, an enhanced rearview camera, and a premium Fender audio system. The SEL has a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and leather seating throughout.  The vehicle includes all the upgraded equipment available on the other models as well.
